Modern Slavery Statement
Harringay Movers Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Harringay Movers is committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and with integrity. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery in our own operations and within our supply chains. It covers our policy, due diligence, supplier management, reporting channels, and ongoing review process.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Harringay Movers has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, servitude, and child labour. We are committed to ensuring that no modern slavery exists in any part of our business or supply chain. This commitment is supported by our leadership team and forms an integral part of our culture, decision-making, and day-to-day operations.
We expect everyone working for or with Harringay Movers to share this commitment. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated seriously and may result in the termination of contracts or working relationships, as well as reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Harringay Movers operates in the removals and relocation sector, providing moving, storage, and related services. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, vehicle and equipment providers, packing material suppliers, facility and maintenance contractors, and labour and recruitment partners.
We recognise that certain sectors and regions may carry a higher risk of modern slavery. We take a risk-based approach to identifying and managing these risks, focusing our due diligence and monitoring efforts where the potential for exploitation may be greater.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers, contractors, and business partners to uphold the same high standards that we apply to our own operations. Harringay Movers requires suppliers to comply with all relevant labour, employment, and human rights laws and to actively prevent modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.
As part of our due diligence, we carry out supplier evaluations that may include pre-engagement questionnaires, reviews of policies and procedures, and risk assessments related to labour practices. Where appropriate, we conduct periodic audits to assess compliance with our standards. These audits may involve site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management and, where feasible, workers.
Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we seek to work collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective actions within defined timeframes. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our expectations, we reserve the right to suspend or end the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Harringay Movers encourages employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions related to modern slavery, whether within our own operations or anywhere in our supply chain. Reports may include concerns about working conditions, recruitment practices, treatment of workers, or any behaviour that may indicate forced or exploitative labour.
We are committed to providing safe reporting channels and to handling all concerns sensitively, fairly, and as confidentially as possible. No one who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation, victimisation, or disadvantage for speaking up.
Managers are required to escalate any concerns they receive. Where necessary, we will investigate, take corrective action, and, if appropriate, notify relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We aim to ensure that relevant employees understand the risks of modern slavery and know how to identify and respond to potential issues. Training and awareness activities focus on staff involved in procurement, supplier management, recruitment, and frontline operations.
Training covers the nature of modern slavery, indicators of exploitation, our internal policies and procedures, and the steps employees should take if they have concerns. We regularly reinforce key messages through internal communications and updates.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Harringay Movers. They review our policies, due diligence activities, and any reported concerns to ensure that our measures remain effective and proportionate.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every 12 months, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, industry practice, or identified risks. As part of the annual review, we assess the effectiveness of our supplier audits, reporting mechanisms, and training, and we identify opportunities for improvement.
Harringay Movers remains committed to continuous improvement in preventing modern slavery and promoting respect for human rights across our business and supply chains.
